After graduating from Lakeside High School in 1990, I attended Harvard College where I met my wife. I earned my medical degree at Yale Medical School then completed my residency and chief residency in internal medicine at Boston Medical Center (Boston University School of Medicine) formerly known as Boston City Hospital. I finished my general cardiology and interventional cardiology fellowships at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (Harvard Medical School) in 2006. In August 2006 I joined Cardiac Study Center which formed a partnership with Multicare Health Systems in 2016. Now I work as a physician for the Multicare Pulse Heart Institute in Tacoma, Washington.
I enjoy fencing and currently serve as club president for Metro Tacoma Fencing Club (MTFC). I am a certified fencing coach having earned my Prévôt in Foil from the US Fencing Coaches Association in 2011. I am among the 2% of USA Fencing competitive members who hold a rating in all three weapons including an A2022 in épée, B2022 in foil, and E2019 in saber. My highest ranking in the United States is 2nd for veteran 50 (50 years old and older) men's épée and 7th for veteran 50 men's foil. I qualified and competed in the 2022 FIE Veteran World Fencing Championships in Zadar, Croatia and finished 25th in the individual event and 5th in the team event.
I still enjoy photography. My favorite picture won a local photography competition years ago. Another photo I took was purchased by Mary Bridge Children's Hospital and is used in a waiting room. I have also had a display of my work at Starbucks in Brookline, Massachusetts during my fellowship. Now it is mostly pictures of kids and family.
what you will find on this site
On the top are links for pictures of the children Andrew, Benjamin, and Christopher. Our sweet dogs have pictures online, too. I have some selected pictures that I have taken in my Photos section.
On the bottom are some links about me. I have a web page about my fencing. I have a website for my patients to let them know a little bit about me. Next are some medical resources that have been handy for me over the years. My favorite web sites can be quickly accessed via the favorite web links button below (or above). Probably the best way to contact me is via Facebook. I would love to hear from any of my old friends. Welcome to my Home Page!
This website started in 1999 with the primary goal of providing myself with a central place for organizing all my favorite links and to share kids' pictures with friends and family all over the country (and with grandparents as far away as Seattle and Japan) before Facebook and other social media existed. My son Andrew did a complete update and redesign to the website in 2020.
